Sandy Chung, MD, FAAP, FACHE, is a nationally recognized pediatrician, healthcare executive, and advocate for children and families. She has held more than 35 state and national leadership roles, including national President of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and Founder and Medical Director of the Virginia Mental Health Access Program. She currently serves as CEO of Trusted Doctors, a pediatric practice with 300+ clinicians across Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

To help address healthcare workforce shortages, Dr. Chung founded Trusted Care Foundation, a national nonprofit that inspires young people, especially those with limited opportunities, to pursue healthcare careers and serve their communities. Her honors include the March of Dimes Lifetime Heroine Award, the Clarence A. Holland Award for community leadership and advocacy, the Abraham Jacobi Award from the AAP and American Medical Association, and recognition on Modern Healthcare’s 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare list.

Dr. Chung has published on youth mental health, telemedicine, and health information technology, and has been featured in the Washington Post, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NPR, and USA Today. She earned her medical degree from the University of Virginia and completed residency at Inova L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital.
