Alfred Grasso was elected to the Virginia Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine (VASEM) in 2019 and has served on its Board for the past five years. He brings to VASEM extensive experience in research, technology, and national security, including over a decade as president and CEO of The MITRE Corporation. His career has been defined by a commitment to evidence-based decision-making and interdisciplinary collaboration—principles that align closely with VASEM’s mission.

Mr. Grasso remains actively engaged in science and technology policy through board service and advisory roles and is honored to support VASEM’s efforts to address the Commonwealth’s most pressing challenges.
