Michael Lamb is General Manager of Electric Transmission Engineering and Reliability at Dominion Energy Virginia, where he serves as asset owner for the company’s electric transmission line and substation systems. In this role, he provides leadership and strategic direction for transmission line and substation engineering, asset management, emergency preparedness, and the High Voltage and Root Cause Analysis Laboratories. He is responsible for the overall performance, investment strategy, governance, and lifecycle management of critical transmission assets, including advanced technologies such as Gas-Insulated Substations (GIS), High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC), and Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) technologies, while also providing strategic oversight of the organization’s strategic sourcing and procurement activities.

Since joining Dominion Energy Virginia in 1988, Michael has accumulated nearly four decades of experience across transmission operations, engineering, system operations, asset management, and equipment standards.

An active member of CIGRE since 2007, he has made significant contributions to Study Committee A2 (Transformers and Reactors), received the Attwood Associate Award in 2018, served as a U.S. National Committee Regular Member from 2018 to 2024, and was recognized as a CIGRE Distinguished Member in 2020.
