F. Gerard (Gerry) Moeller is associate vice president for clinical research at Virginia Commonwealth University(VCU) and director of the C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research. He is principal investigator for VCU’s Clinical and Translational Science Award from the National Center for Advancing Translational Science at the National Institutes of Health.
Moeller is professor and Addictions Division chief in the Department of Psychiatry and the director of the Institute for Drug and Alcohol Studies. An internationally recognized researcher, he focuses on translational science of substance use disorders and addictions, collaborating with Virginia government agencies, such as the Opioid Abatement Authority. He has over 240 peer-reviewed publications and several books, and is a fellow of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology and the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
