Siddhartha Sikdar is a Distinguished University Professor of Bioengineering at George Mason University and the co-director of the Center for MedTech Innovation. He leads an interdisciplinary research group of scientists, engineers, healthcare professionals, and community members, working to advance medical technologies into the real world through human-centered and community-engaged methodologies.

His research, funded by the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, and Department of Defense, studies human functioning using novel biomedical imaging, sensing and other digital technologies. His research is being applied to understand, monitor and improve functioning in individuals living with disability, including chronic pain, stroke, spinal cord injury, and amputation.

He is a Fellow of the American Institute for Ultrasound in Medicine. He has been a recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, the Volgenau School of Engineering Rising Star Award and Mason’s Emerging Researcher/Scholar/Creator Award.
