John H. Rossmeisl is the Dr. and Mrs. Dorsey Taylor Mahin Professor of Neurosurgery at Virginia Tech. His work as a clinician-scientist on elucidating the molecular mechanisms of brain tumor formation and progression, minimally invasive neurosurgery, and novel methods of drug delivery to the brain have been funded by the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, and American Cancer Society.

His research has resulted in 220 peerreviewed publications, 25 patents, the completion of 20 translational neuro-oncology clinical trials, and the founding of three medical device companies.

He is a senior member of the National Academy of Inventors and a recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Award from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia. Rossmeisl serves on several advisory boards, including the National Cancer Institute’s Comparative Brain Tumor Consortium, Focused Ultrasound Foundation, and the US Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Devices and Radiologic Health.
