Leila is a doctoral student in Materials Science and Engineering at Norfolk State University. She also holds a master’s degree in Inorganic Chemistry and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. Her research experience is at the intersection of materials, energy, and applied physics. With the COVES Fellowship, Leila is interested in working in science and engineering policy and is more broadly interested in learning how research drives decision-making and the role of universities and research institutions in informing public policy.
