Hanne Borstlap

Hanne is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia, with research interests in how climate-driven changes in hydrologic processes contribute to environmental inequalities. Her current research focuses on water-related challenges on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, integrating community perspectives through regular outreach and workshops. She is passionate about leadership and science policy, serving as an organizer for the Graduate Climate Conference and participating in federal congressional visits through the American Geophysical Union’s Local Science Partners program. She hopes to build on this work as a COVES Fellow.
